|Preparation - Directions:
Cream butter and sugar; add eggs and vanilla and mix. Sift together flour, soda and salt. Stir in oatmeal. Add the dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Set aside.
Filling: Mix the chocolate pieces and milk, butter and salt together in double boiler. Add the nuts and stir until all is melted. Set aside.
Spread the oatmeal mixture in 15 inch by 10 inch greased cookie sheet, leave 1/3 in pan. Cover with the chocolate mixture. Drop by teaspoons remaining oatmeal mixture over the top of the filling. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes. Then cut into bars.
