Aunt Mary’s Apple Cake

Ingredients:

Cream together:
1/2 cube butter
1 cup sugar
Beat until fluffy, then add:
2 eggs
1 t. vanilla
Beat again, until well mixed and set aside.
Sift together:
2 cups flour
2 t. baking powder
Pinch of salt
Measure out:
3/4 cup milk

Preparation - Directions:

Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture, alternating each addition with milk. Pour batter into a greased 7-1/2 inch by 11-1/2 inch Pyrex dish.
Peel, core and slice 3 to 4 cooking apples. Place thinly sliced apples in rows to cover the top of the cake batter. Sprinkle with graham cracker crumbs, sugar and cinnamon, dot with butter.
Bake at 325° (glass pan) for 30 to 40 minutes, or until done.
