Wreck shuts highway

Feb 28, 2013 - 05:56 PM
A three-vehicle wreck closed Highway 12 north of Madrone Road for more than an hour Tuesday evening, but there were no major injuries, although two people were transported to the hospital with what were described as minor injuries. According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle driven by Jeny Sanchez-Perez, 25, of Kenwood, was northbound on Highway 12, lost control and overcorrected, sideswiping a southbound vehicle driven by Dagoberto Gomez, 29, of Sonoma, which in turn hit a bridge. A third vehicle, also southbound and behind Gomez, driven by Jerry Padilla Jr., 34, of Sonoma, tried to stop and ended up colliding with the front of Sanchez-Perez’s vehicle. The CHP said no alcohol was involved. The CHP also said that Sanchez-Perez will be cited for driving without a license.
