Transcendence Theatre Company, which produces the “Broadway Under the Stars” concert series in Jack London State Historic Park, is gearing up for its second summer season that will run from June through August.

The company is also proud that they won a Broadway World San Francisco award for “Best Special Theater Event” for their inaugural season. In addition to winning the award, the 2012 season attracted 7,500 attendees and raised more than $27,000 for Jack London State Historic Park.

The “2013 Broadway Under The Stars” concert series, playing June 28 to Aug. 31, will include four separate themed concerts, for a total of 14 performance nights. Each evening performance is enhanced with wine tasting and pre-event picnicking in the park.

The 2013 season begins with “Fly Me To The Moon” running June 28, 29, 30; and July 5 and 6.
This show will journey through the uplifting, inspiring and carefree messages behind some of the greatest tunes of Broadway and the “Great American Songbook.” Inspired by the unique and brash optimism of the American musical, this show is all about soaring beyond the usual limits through music. It will feature songs from Broadway’s greatest composers, including Rodgers and Hammerstein, Stephan Sondheim, Cole Porter, Stephan Schwartz and more.

The popular “Fantastical Family Night” returns on July 19 and 20. Saturated with classic Broadway and Disney songs alike, this night of interactive entertainment is a hit for music lovers of all ages.

Next up will be “Dancing Through Life” on Aug. 9, 10, 15, 16 and 17. Mixed with a genuine variety of both song and dance, this show will feature toe-tapping music from shows like “Chicago,” “Crazy for You” and “A Chorus Line.”

Finally, the season wraps up with a gala celebration concert on Aug. 30 and 31. The night celebrates many of the popular numbers from the season, and also doubles as a fundraiser for the next season.

While the performers for the 2013 season have yet to be announced, the 2012 season featured Broadway performers from the casts of “Mamma Mia,” “Les Miserables,” “Chicago,” “La Cage Aux Folles,” “Gypsy,” “Hairspray,” “Follies,” “White Christmas,” “Million Dollar Quartet,” “Mary Poppins” and more.

Tickets cost between $29 and $125, with discounts on early-bird tickets purchased before May 1. Season “flex passes” can also be purchased for those who want to take in multiple shows. Group tickets are available at a special discount for individuals and organizations. For every ticket sold, $5 will be donated to Jack London State Historic Park.
