Three restaurants cited for selling alcohol to minors
Three Sonoma businesses were cited Friday for selling alcohol to minors as part of the Sonoma Police Department’s “Minor Decoy Sting” program.
Round Table Pizza, Hop Monk Tavern and Pizzeria Capri were cited for selling alcohol to underage decoys.
According to Sgt. Spencer Crum with the Sonoma Police Department, the employees were criminally cited for furnishing alcohol to minors and the businesses are being referred to the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control for administrative license violations. This project is part of the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control's Minor Decoy/Shoulder Tap Grant Project, funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

I still contend (as I did in an earlier posting some time ago)that this program is entrapment as these folks (the staff at these restaurants) would not normally intend to sell alcohol to minors.
I also think that the use of minors in this program is a form of child abuse.
I am interested in how many establishments were "tested" and passed
They should have their licenses pulled for at least 3yrs.
The next time Mr. Wallis runs a red light or fails to come to a "complete" stop at a stop sign, maybe they shouldpull his drivers license for 3 years as well. Seems fair, with his logic .
Clayton... It's not the owners fault that an employee decided on their own to be stupid and not check for ID. Why should the owner of these establishments, who put their hard earned money and risk into each of these to have their licences pulled? Have YOU ever been an owner, taken risk, or have you just sat around getting a salary pay? The ABC's policies are not fair to the owner. Do yo expect an owner to be at their business 24 hours a day checking ID? Unfortunately the owners of each of these business will be fined, heavily, for this penalty and can lose their liquor license if repeated. The owners will tell the employees of the process again on checking every ID, but again, they are putting their trust and risk into these employees who could either follow the rules or not. The employee should be the one fined $10,000, not the owners. Clayton.... go out and take some risks of your own and come back and write on how it feels. An owner of a restaurant is not easy. Please respect what they do for our community by giving jobs, taxes, and entertainment. Without them, our town would not prosper.
