The Sonoma Valley Education Foundation was recently awarded a $22,000 grant from the Mary A. Crocker Trust to support the Teacher Support Network program (TSN) at Sonoma Valley High School and its pilot 2013 program at Altimira Middle School. A Mary A. Crocker board member and AVID volunteer at the Sonoma Valley High School approached TSN program coordinator Sallie Kyle-Moore to apply for the grant last September. The monies will be used to launch the middle school program and to continue the program at SVHS where there are more than 50 volunteers on campus weekly working with students and teachers. TSN has launched two programs at Altimira Middle School this semester in sixth-grade language arts and sixth- and seventh-grade math, and is seeking interested volunteers for these Altimira programs. Contact Sallie Kyle-Moore at sallie@svtsn.org for more information.
