Spring Dragons launch workouts Monday
Paperwork, physicals, fees needed to participate
As Sonoma Valley High School’s 2012-13 winter sports regular seasons in basketball and wrestling are into their stretch run, with the postseason on the horizon, Sonoma’s spring sports are on the verge of starting their preseason.
The 2013 spring Dragons will begin their official workouts in six sports – boys’ baseball, girls’ softball, boys’ tennis and golf, boys’ and girls’ track and field, and boys’ and girls’ swimming – this Monday, Feb. 4.
Except for boys’ tennis and golf, all the Dragon squads have junior varsity programs, with baseball – as always – fielding a freshman team.
Students who want to participate in Sonoma’s 2013 spring sports programs need to have all their paperwork and mandatory current physical examinations completed before the official opening of preseason practices for that sport.
Sports fees are $125 for varsity, junior varsity and freshman student-athletes, and can be paid – with forms and paperwork available – at the SVHS student activities office Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
