Sonomans launch Critical Mass
Sonoma residents Christy Power and Mike Zakowski are organizing Sonoma’s own Critical Mass, with regular bicycle rides planned for the last Friday of each month. The inaugural ride will take place today, Friday, Feb. 22, at 4:20 p.m. beginning at the Sonoma Plaza.
“You are encouraged to bring your ideas, energy, opinions and talents to Critical Mass. You are also encouraged to conduct yourself as an adult, to treat other individuals – whether biking, driving or walking – as you yourself would like to be treated,” the pair posted on its Facebook event page.
Critical Mass rides take place in cities all over the world on the last Friday of the month – part of an awareness campaign to make city streets safer for cyclists.

Ok this is lame. Leave this stuff in San Francisco, not Sonoma. If anything have a mass horseback riding event at the plaza. That would be more like it.
I agree with Lank Thompson. Sonoma streets are treacherous as they are without the introduction of Critical Mass bicyclists. The horseback riding suggestion is so much more Sonoma-style.
Better yet, go to Petaluma!
