Sonoma man arrested on multiple child sexual abuse charges

A 64-year-old Sonoma man was arrested on multiple child sexual abuse charges and is being held without bail.

According to Sgt. Cecile Focha, with the Sheriff’s Office of Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Investigations, at about 10 p.m. Tuesday, Sonoma police contacted the parent of a child regarding a sexual assault. After preliminary details, detectives from the sexual assault unit responded for further investigation.

The detectives obtained a search warrant for a residence and vehicle and subsequently arrested Kenneth Donald Hutchins, 64, of Sonoma.

Hutchins, who has been a Valley resident for more than 20 years, was booked into the county jail on charges of felony aggravated sexual assault of a child; felony continuous sexual abuse of a child; felony sexual abuse of a child under 10 years old; and felony oral copulation with a child under 14 years old.

If convicted, Hutchins faces 25 years to life in prison.
