SONOMA RACEWAY IS offering an exclusive opportunity to purchase tickets for the 2013 Big O Tires racing season before they go on sale to the general public later this month. All ticket purchases made will be able to receive the best possible seat locations for all main events on the 2013 Valley schedule, including NASCAR, NHRA and INDYCAR, for a $20.13 deposit. SONOMA LITTLE LEAGUE will hold four in-person registration sessions at the Sonoma Firehouse, 630 Second St. W., from 6 to 8 p.m. this Tuesday, Jan. 15, and Wednesday, Jan. 16. Sign-up costs are $105 a player and $65 for siblings, with a $100 volunteer deposit. SLL online registration is currently underway at sonomalittleleague.com.

 

SONOMA VALLEY HIGH School Booster Club’s major fundraiser for sports, arts and other extracurricular programs – the annual “Super Bowl of Crab Feeds” – is back after a one-year hiatus and will take place from 6 p.m. to midnight on Friday, Feb. 1, at the Moose Lodge, 20580 Broadway. Tickets for the benefit dinner and dance, with music by the Scallywags Band, are currently on sale and cost $45 a person, or $10 for dance-only admission. There are 250 tickets available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and can be purchased online at sonomavalleyhigh.org or calling Veronica Brooks at 235-4150.

SONOMA VALLEY HIGH School’s alumni committee organizing the 2013 Dragon Hall of Fame event, taking place Saturday, May 11, at Hanna Boys Center’s new facility on its Arnold Drive campus, needs help with its search for members of the Sonoma girls’ 1978 and ’79 cross country championship teams. The back-to-back title-winning Sonoma girls’ cross country championship teams members include Suzie Gitti, Cathy Bettencourt, Jennifer Secrist, Jane Fonseca, Kari Anderson, Paula Forrest, Julie Davidson, Connie Snyder, Jamie Pickering, Dolores Fernandez, Cindy Chambers, Cindy Archer, Katie Juffman, Lori Norlock, Kori Schake, Pam Masten, Joanne Morovich, Cheri Bauer, Julie Hirsh, Jeanne Martin, Macial Felton, Val Haase, Mary Ann Weber, Eve Decker, Patricia Gallagher, Karen Dimick, Madeline Potter, Jane Masten, Eve Eshelman, Gae Eshelman, Lisa Ross and Tami Chambers.
