A crowded and loud Golton Hall was rocking with excitement last night as the Sonoma Valley High School varsity wrestling team honored its eight seniors and their parents, then delivered an impressive team performance in its home finale to remain unbeaten after four Sonoma County League dual matches.

Moments after honoring their seniors – co-captains Sam Denning, Aidan Lacy and Giordi Serafini, along with Jonny Amandoli, Sebastian Amara, Peter Gray, Alex Ohan and Jose Vazquez – the Dragons took the mat with confidence and determination, which led to their 55-17 rout of much-improved new SCL-member Piner.

A group of Sonoma varsity wrestlers will compete in the Lou Encalada Invitational at Rodriguez High School in Fairfield tomorrow, Saturday, Jan. 26, before they travel to Santa Rosa for an SCL dual with Elsie Allen this Wednesday, Jan. 30.
