SAVE OUR SPORTS, in partnership with Sonoma Valley Education Foundation, will hold a “Mardi Gras Cajun Boil” fundraiser, to raise money to keep sports programs at the Valley’s Adele Harrison and Altimira middle schools, on Saturday, March 9, at the Sonoma Valley Veterans Memorial Building. Doors open for the 21-years-and-old-and-older event at 6, with a no-host bar featuring hurricane cocktails, and dinner, with wine, taking place at 7 p.m., and will also include a raffle, a silent auction, a dice bar and live music provided by Backtrax. Donation tickets cost $45 a person or $50 at the door. For tickets, send checks made payable to SVEF, to P.O. Box 752, Sonoma, CA 95476. VALLEY OF THE Moon Trap Club will hold its annual St. Patrick’s Day Corned Beef shoot on Sunday, March 10, starting at 9 a.m. at the club’s South Burndale Road site. Tickets are $5 a round, with five-person squads – signing up at 8:30 a.m. – and a bonus “Annie Oakley Shoot-off,” with a winner-takes-half-cash prize being offered. NORCAL ACADEMY BASKETBALL for girls in fifth-through-11th grades are taking sign-ups through March 3, and will hold skill development sessions twice a week beginning March 12, and running through May 16, with tryouts for a competitive traveling team also being held. SONOMA VALLEY HIGH School’s alumni committee organizing the 2013 Dragon Hall of Fame event, taking place Saturday, May 11, at Hanna Boys Center’s new facility on its Arnold Drive campus, needs help with its search for members of the Sonoma girls’ 1978 and ’79 cross country championship teams.
