Sandra ‘Sandi’ Kay Wilson

 Sandra Kay (Sandi) Wilson, 74, of San Francisco and Sonoma, died on Nov. 22, 2012.

  Sandi was born Sept. 23, 1938, in Iowa, but grew up in Grand Island, Neb., the daughter of Harrold J. and Genevieve (McMenimen) Wilson.

  After graduating from Grand Island High School in 1956, Sandi enter the nursing program at Creighton-St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha, Neb. She graduated as a registered nurse in 1958 and worked at St. Joseph Hospital until her move to San Francisco in 1965. Sandi worked in her chosen profession in several capacities until the end of her life.

  At the same time she explored new interests such as real estate, local culture and travel. Sandi was an amazing volunteer, and every enterprise she lent her talents to was made better. Sandi worked for many years on the St. Jude Hospital fight against childhood leukemia in San Francisco. She was involved with Vintage House senior center in Sonoma, and devoted her talents in making the annual sale a success.

  Sandi will be missed by all the friends she has gained through the years.

 A memorial service will be held at St. Francis Solano Catholic Church, 469 Third St. W.; Sonoma, CA at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, and a celebration of her life “Remembering Sandra Kay Wilson” will be held at Vintage House, 264 First St. E., Sonoma, from 1 to 3 p.m., on Saturday, Jan.19.
Interment will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Dougherty, Iowa, at a later date.
