Ruby E. Benson

Ruby E. Benson passed away in Santa Rosa, Feb. 6, 2013.  Ruby was the dearly beloved wife of the late, Grant H. Benson; loving mother of Lori Benson Taylor (Steven) of Santa Rosa; and the late Nancy Benson Carli (Ron) of Santa Rosa; adored grandmother of Joseph, Amy, Andrew, Ryan, Briana, Lauren, Benjamin, Jenna and Jill; and great-grandmother of Abbigail, Grant, Lucas, Jackson, Quinn, Ronan, with a great-granddaughter due in April, and a great-grandson due in July.  Ruby was the dear sister of Nell Tibbs, of Ohio.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  A native of Birmingham, Ala., age 84 years.

  Ruby was known to be quite a character. She had a fierce spirit and a very spunky soul, but a very loving soul as well. Her family was the most important thing in her life. Family wishes to acknowledge and deeply thank Taina “Ty” Modrau for all the love and care she care gave to Ruby the last eight years of her life.

  Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Ave., Santa Rosa.  A reception will follow at the home of Lori and Steve Taylor. Private family inurnment.
