Rob, a 12-year resident of Sonoma, passed away on Dec. 1, 2012, at Marin General Hospital.
He contracted a very rare and aggressive neurological disease called Creutzfeldt-Jakop disease.
Rob was born Sept. 23, 1948, in Los Angeles to Ransom W. and Marie C. Lloyd. Rob grew up in Southern California and graduated from the Don Bosco Technical Institute, where he taught metallurgy for a year after graduation. Rob then went into the electrical industry. He worked as an electrician in Southern and Northern California, until his retirement in 2011.
Rob was an avid outdoorsman and loved to spend his free time hunting and fishing with his nephew Aaron, brother John, and many of his friends over the years. He loved family and friends, and had a soft spot for the kids and always had time to sit, listen and help out when he could.
He is survived by his life partner of 12 years, Janelle Johnson; brother, John; sister-in-law, Pam; nephew Aaron; nieces, Lisa, Kristine and Emily. Rob will be greatly missed by all.
A memorial service will be held for Rob on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Moose Lodge in Sonoma, 20580 Broadway, Sonoma; 996-3877.
