Obama’s distasteful gun comment
Editor, Index-Tribune:
In a Jan. 11 letter titled, “Gun Appreciation Day an outrage,” Bob Edwards expresses his outrage with the NRA for having a Gun Appreciation Day two days before Martin Luther King Day. Bob states that this is offensive and wrong, and needs to be condemned. I would like to comment and pose a question for Bob, or for anyone else who feels as he does.
President Obama recently said that, “the Republicans were holding a gun to the head of the American people,” while talking to the media about the need to raise the debt ceiling. In light of the recent Sandy Hook tragedy and all the talk of guns, I find his comment to be very insulting and insensitive to the victims and their families.
My question to Bob is this: Don’t you think that Obama’s comment is just as bad as the NRA wanting a Gun Appreciation Day two days before MLK day? If George Bush had said something like this, Bob Edwards, Tom Sokoloski and Will Shonbrun would be lecturing us about how distasteful, rude, uncaring, insensitive and flat out stupid a comment like that would be. I challenge any Democrat to do the right thing and admit that Obama’s comment was out of line given the recent event in Connecticut.

Interesting that the three most vocal Liberals in
the Sonoma Valley have nothing to say. The famous
Simon & Garfunkel song rings in my ear. The Sound
of Silence.
Like to correct the record.
Change Tom Sokoloski to Tom Sokolowski?
