James Thomas Sweeney

  James Thomas Sweeney, born in 1929, was a resident of Sonoma; a fixture in the Irish community.

  James was raised in Ballycroy, County Mayo, Ireland. He was Korean War veteran in the United States Air Force.

  James was the husband of Joyce Duffy; father of Patrick, James, Phelim, Jane (Roberti) and John; grandfather of Tim Neal, Lena Sweeney, Matt Sweeney, Theresa Sweeney, Jacquelynn Buresh, Brendan Sweeney, Kevin Sweeney and Kristin Roberti. He is also survived by his brother, Joe; and sisters, Betty (Folan) and Peggy (Fallon). He was predeceased by daughter, Ann (Buresh); brother, Edward; and sister, Catherine (Donovan).

  Memorial services will be held at St. Francis Solano Church, Sonoma, Friday, Feb. 15, 11 a.m., followed by reception at Sonoma Moose Lodge, Sonoma.
