Hotel fits in General Plan

  In response to Mr. Shonbrun’s Valley Forum (“A sense of place,” Jan. 8), I find his interpretation of the 2020 General Plan much different from mine. Anyone can take statements out of context and argue their personal agenda.

  I believe the Chateau Sonoma hotel fits within our 2020 General Plan. In the plan, there is an entire chapter on economic development. Where is that in Mr. Shonbrun’s letter? The city clearly encourages business that supports agriculture and tourism. Isn’t that what the hotel will do?

  Too often, good projects go south because of fearmongering by a few. The Chateau Sonoma hotel is a good project and I completely support it.
