Hilda Ruth Withey

In Sonoma on Feb. 27, 2013, Hilda Ruth Withey passed peacefully away. She was 90.  A resident of Sonoma for the past 17 years, she was a native of Bridgeport, Ill.  She was the eldest of five children born to Charles and Reba Bradfield. She worked most of her life in the automotive industry and retired in 1981.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Withey; and by her daughter, Sharon Lee Harper.

Hilda had been a residence of Paradise and spent 13 years in Napa, before moving to Sonoma.

Hilda was an avid reader and loved her life and her family.

She was the loving mother of Daniel Kevin (Marta) O’Brien, of Dearborn, Mo.; and Mark Allen (Julie) Withey, of San Rafael.  She was the loving grandmother of five and great-grandmother of numerous great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sisters, Mona Fay Samuels and Bonnie Kearns.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Roselawn Cemetery, Fort Smith, Ark.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Vintage Sonoma as well as Hospice By The Bay, Sonoma.

Hilda will be missed by family and friends.
