Harold John Michael ‘Hal’ Tanforan

  Harold John Michael “Hal” Tanforan, 73, longtime Bay Area resident died Jan. 23, 2013, in Burlingame. Hal was born in San Anselmo, to Frank and June Tanforan and lived many years in Foster City. He was a business-oriented vice president and manager of Bank of America in San Carlos for 30 years. His strong religious faith held his family together.

  Hal is survived by his children, Deets Winslow, Charise Ann West, Travis Winslow and John Tanforan; and his 10 beautiful grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Roseleen Ann Tanforan; and his granddaughter, Kalli Shae Tanforan. Hal was a husband, father, grandfather and friend who will forever live in the hearts of all who knew him and he will continue to watch over them as their guardian angel.

  Friends are invited to visit between noon and 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Duggan’s Mission Chapel, 525 W. Napa St., Sonoma, CA 95476. A vigil service will be held same day at 6 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at St. Francis Solano Catholic Church, 300 W. Napa St., Sonoma, CA 95476. Interment will immediately follow Mass at the Mountain Cemetery, 90 First St. W., Sonoma, CA 95476 where Hal will be laid to rest next to his late wife, Roseleen.

  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Hal’s honor to the Stanford University Medical Center’s Cancer Research Institute for Leukemia Research c/o Development Services, P.O. Box 20466, Stanford, CA 94309; or to the children’s hospital of your choice.
