Kenwood resident Cindy Tucker, accompanied by her husband, Mark (not pictured), accepts an honor Wednesday evening at the Kenwood Fire Department no mother seeks: the Gold Star banner, presented to the family of soldiers who were killed as a result of their time in combat. Her son, Pfc. Dustin Tucker, died Aug. 27, 2008, while on a visit home in Kenwood. He was honored at the time of his death, but thanks to efforts of the American Legion, Patriot Guard Riders, Kenwood Fire Department and Mothers of Military Service Members, his name will be soon be added to the Star of Honor at the Sonoma Valley Veterans Memorial Park. Along with his father and brother, Dustin Tucker was a volunteer with the Kenwood Fire Department, who joined the Army in 2007 and served in Baghdad with the 7th Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division.
