‘Fibber McGee and Molly’ at Murphy’s
The "Fibber McGee and Molly Show" was a popular radio show in the '30s, '40s and '50s.
Old-time radio skits get dusted off and performed live at Murphy’s Irish Pub this Sunday and Monday, March 24 and 25, with shows beginning at 5:30 p.m. This week’s offering is “Fibber McGee and Molly: Comedy from the Cluttered Closet.”
Included in the $35 ticket price is a full multi-course dinner and a drink.
From 1935 to 1959, 79 Wistful Vista was one of America's most famous addresses and Molly's warning to Fibber not to open the hall closet door, punctuated by his subsequent decision to do so, created one of radio's best remembered running gags that audiences expected each week on “The Fibber McGee and Molly Show.”
The dinner theater cast appearing at Murphy’s includes Jeremy Berrick, Jeff Dreyer, Julia Holsworth, Sherrill Peterson, Bill Shea and Sharry Simpson.
Tickets can be purchased online at bpt.me/346727.
Murphy’s Irish Pub is located at 464 First St. E.
