Sonoma spring sports update, track’s G&W Relays, alum meet Wednesday

The defending Sonoma County League champion Sonoma Valley High School varsity baseball boys open their 2013 season by hosting longtime nonleague rival and perennial North Coast Section Division-3 power, San Marin, at 7 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 23, at Arnold Field.
In other spring sports news, Sonoma’s boys’ golf and tennis, and varsity girls’ softball teams are currently playing preseason matches and games – results will appear next week in the I-T – with the Dragon swim teams hosting Piner in their SCL opener today at 3:30 p.m. in the Sonoma Aquatic Center’s pool.
Sonoma’s track and field teams will hold their annual season-opening intra-squad Green and White Relays and Alumni Meet starting at 3:30 p.m. this Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Schantz Track, with SVHS alumni invited to participate in the event.
