Conaway to share latest novel
JAMES CONAWAY
On Saturday, March 16, at noon, best-selling writer James Conaway (“Napa,” “The Far Side of Eden”) comes to Proof’d on Sonoma Plaza to celebrate the release of his new novel, “Nose,” the witty tale of a wine critic in search of the mysterious origin of a particularly good bottle of cabernet.
Attendees can meet Conaway and taste wines from Benziger Family Winery at the afternoon reception. Books will be for sale and Conaway will be signing books as well.
Jim Lehrer of PBS NewsHour calls “Nose,” set in California’s Wine Country, “A terrific mystery, a love(s) story, an under-all-the-soil good and evil saga plus a marvelous tour through and about the world of winemaking.”
Conaway is the author of several books, including “Napa: The Story of an American Eden,” the nonfiction bestseller about Wine Country and those responsible for California’s winemaking triumphs; and its sequel, “The Far Side of Eden.” He is also the author of “The Big Easy” and “World’s End.” His most recent book is “Vanishing America.” Conaway has written for multiple magazines, among them Harper’s, The Atlantic, Smithsonian, Saveur, Gourmet and National Geographic Traveler.
Proof’d is located on the Plaza at 19 W. Napa St.
