Comedy a new monthly offering at Murphy’s

Murphy’s Irish Pub is bringing the laughs with its new offering, Sonoma's Back Alley Comedy.

  The next show takes place Saturday, Jan. 26, at 6 and 9 p.m. featuring headliner Will Franken.

  Franken established himself as a cult figure in San Francisco and was named “Best Comedian” by SF Weekly and “Best Alternative to Psychedelic Drugs” by the San Francisco Bay Guardian. Franken has appeared at HBO's Comedy Festival in Las Vegas as well as Just For Laughs in Montreal.

  Chris Cruz will open for Franken. Cruz is known for his high energy-style; named first-runner-up at the 2011 Central Valley Comedy Competition and first place at the 95.7 the Fox Laugh Off Competition.

  Prior to the 6 p.m. show, singer Robert Goddu will perform live music.

  Tickets are $20 presale, $25 at the door, and includes one drink. These shows will sell out, so early purchase is suggested.
