Bruno Mazzucchi
Long time Sonoma resident Bruno Mazzucchi passed away on Feb. 7, 2013. Bruno was born on Nov. 29, 1924, on his family’s dairy in Petaluma. He was raised on the dairy and graduated from Petaluma High School. As a young man, he moved to Sonoma and worked at various jobs including, the US Plywood Mill, Leveroni’s Dairy, as a butcher at Country Side Meats, and the veterans hospital in Yountville. He tended bar in local establishments, Jerry’s, Stieners and The Blue Moon Saloon.
He loved hunting, fishing and good food. He also had a passion for barbequing and was well-known for his sauce and cooking skills.
Bruno is survived by a brother, Roland; sisters, Melba Newman and Marie Lopus; former wife, Beverly Mazzucchi; sons, Ron, Larry, Steve, Darrell, David; and daughter, Lois McAuliffe; 16 grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, friends, and family in Italy.
A celebration of Bruno’s life will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Sonoma Valley Moose Lodge, 20580 Broadway.
