Boosters gear up for Crab Feed with lively music video
The Sonoma Valley High School Boosters Club is gearing up for its much-loved, annual Crab Feed and Dance at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1 at the Moose Lodge, 20580 Broadway. The night features fresh, cracked crab, Caesar salad, dessert and music by the Scallywags Band. Tickets are $45 or $10 to just attend the dance. Only 250 tickets are available for this event, which is an important fundraiser for the club. More than 85 percent of Sonoma Valley High School students participate in an extracurricular activity funded by Boosters. Tickets can be purchased at sonomavalleyhigh.org or by calling Veronica Brooks at 235-4150. Peter Hansen’s video arts students at the high school create some form of video for the Boosters every year. His department also created, sponsors and manages a small website for the organization, svhsboosters.com, and runs the club’s Facebook site. The original song that this year’s video is set to is written and performed by Danny Wirick, a 2011 graduate of Hansen’s advanced class. Wirick is now a sophomore at University of Southern California’s School of Music. Watch the video at: vimeo.com/57617747 or go to the link at Sonomanews.com.
