Arts Guild launches February exhibition

Jan 31, 2013 - 02:50 PM

The Arts Guild of Sonoma (AGS) offers up an exhibition of new work by guild member artists, which runs from Feb. 1 to 25 at the AGS gallery, 140 E. Napa St., in Sonoma. The public is invited to the opening reception tonight, Friday, Feb. 1, from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Arts Guild of Sonoma, located right off the Plaza, is a contemporary art gallery with changing monthly exhibits showcasing the work of local artists.

Opening receptions are held on the first Friday of each month and exhibit pieces in acrylic, encaustic, oil and water color paintings, jewelry, mixed media work, ceramics, metal sculpture and more, including smaller objets d’art, prints and note cards.

All works are available for purchase at a wide range of prices.

Local wine and tasty nibbles will be served during the reception.

The guild was founded to exhibit and advance the creative efforts of local Bay Area artists.

Founded in 1977, it is the oldest, continuously operating artists’ collective in the state and is a registered nonprofit organization.

Admission to the gallery is free. The gallery is open Thursday through Monday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. To find out more, visit artsguildofsonoma.com, email gallery@artsguildofsonoma.org or call 996-3115.
