An amazing clean-up

  This morning, as I was leaving my home on Burndale Road, I stopped at the intersection of Napa road. What I saw there was the biggest case of litter, up and down both streets and into the adjacent vineyard, that I have ever seen.

  It was amazing, third-world stuff.

  I poked around and found a name on an envelope and called the Sonoma police. The very friendly dispatcher was unsure what could be done, as county cuts may have left cleanup crews nowhere to be found. And those drunk-driving cleanup crews are nearly extinct too.

  But lo and behold, when I left my home again at noon, the mess was cleaned up.

  Amazing turn around. Great job Sonoma dispatch in finding either the litterers (who I hope were fined) or the appropriate agency for the prompt clean up. If only government could respond to guns and these nasty gasoline price increases with such speed and excellent results!
