Altimira musicians Naomi Little (grade six), Nick Spanger (grade six) and Rudy Guiterrez (grade eight), were selected to represent Altimira Middle School in the Sonoma County Honor Band. Little plays the clarinet, Spanger plays the trumpet and Guiterrez plays the tuba. All three participate in band at Altimira, as their elective class, alongside 38 other students in grades six, seven and eight, under the direction of teacher Carolyn Niehaus. Also chosen for the honor band were three Adele Harrison Middle School students, sixth-grader Will Godwin and seventh-graders Mario Coronado and Dominic Chiotti. The six band students performed with other talented student musicians from all over Sonoma County at Santa Rosa High School on Jan. 19. Carolyn Niehaus also oversees the band program at Adele Harrison.
