Alcalde reception set

A reception honoring the City of Sonoma 2013 Alcaldes, Les and Judy Vadasz, will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at Vintage House senior center, 264 First St. E. in Sonoma.

The Vadaszes were selected from a pool of three nominees that included Gary Edwards and Rob Wilson.

Since they were out of town and out of telephone range for that meeting, neither Vadasz heard the parade of praise heaped on them by a dozen prominent Sonomans who rose to support their nomination at the Dec. 17 City Council meeting.

The public is invited to attend and participate in the recognition of this hard-working and community-minded couple. There is no charge to attend the event; however, donations of $10 are suggested and may be made at the door.
