SONOMA VALLEY HIGH School’s winter sports programs began their preseason workouts for the 2012-13 campaigns yesterday. Students who want to participate in Sonoma’s winter sports of basketball and wrestling need to have all their paperwork and mandatory current physical examinations completed before the official opening of preseason practices for that sport. Forms and paperwork are available at the SVHS student activities office Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

 

SONOMA RACEWAY’S 24th season of Wednesday Night Drags, along with the motorsport of drifting, and the “Top the Cops” program, wraps up with the final two event-evenings set for tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 7, and Wednesday, Nov. 14, For more details, or for general Sonoma Raceway information, call 800-870-RACE (7223), or visit racesonoma.com.

 

SONOMA VALLEY TENNIS Association is offering a free program for beginners and returning players – under the direction of teaching pros Sam Levy and Jordan Walker – from 3 to 4 p.m. on Saturdays, Nov. 10 and 17, at the Maxwell Farms courts. SONOMA BOCCE BALL Association recently ended its 2012 seasons of play in the Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday leagues. If you are interested in joining the SBBA – the annual membership cost is $20 a person – or for more details, call (John) 938-2101 or (Ginette) 935-3337.
