Winifred Agnes Marovich

June 28, 1920 - Aug. 23, 2012

  Winnie Marovich graced this good earth for 92 years and the lives of those fortunate to have known her. She peacefully passed on Aug. 23, 2012.

  Winnie was the loving wife of the late Frank Marovich; mother of Mike, Pat and Dee Dee; grandmother of Matthew, O’Neil, Clair, Amy, Gillian, Mariah, Rachael, Audrey; great-grandmother of 11; mother-in-law of Janice Marovich, and the late Lionel Heath; and aunt of Nancy Melican. Winnie leaves the legacy of a life well-lived in simplicity and faith.

  Winnie Melican was born in San Francisco, the only daughter of Irish immigrant parents. Always with a beautiful smile, always accepting of whatever life sent her way, never self-indulgent, Winnie was a calming influence. Practical, forever patient, she had the abiding confidence and optimism that her children and grandchildren would always find a way, make the best of what they were given and would live a good life as she and Frank did for more than 60 years of marriage. She believed that for every storm God gives you a rainbow, in each trial there is a blessing and an answer to every prayer.

  Winnie’s last years were spent in the caring embrace of the dedicated staff and good Sisters of Nazareth House. A memorial Mass was celebrated at Nazareth House with her family and friends. Winnie’s positive, giving spirit and loving influence will be missed but not forgotten.
