Wine Country Weekend to begin with new supper club

Jul 26, 2012 - 02:21 PM

On Friday, Aug. 31, the first ever Sonoma Starlight Supper Club at Francis Ford Coppola Winery will kick off the fifth annual Sonoma Wine Country Weekend set for Labor Day Weekend, Aug. 31 to Sept. 2.

Set against the backdrop of the Alexander Valley, the Sonoma Starlight Supper Club begins poolside at the iconic Francis Ford Coppola Winery, with an array of wines from 20 Sonoma County wineries paired with local cuisine prepared by Jeff Mall, Carlo Cavallo and Josh Silvers, the Sonoma County trio of chefs that comprise Culinary Cuvee. The evening will culminate with dessert, live music and dancing to the music of Pride and Joy.

The exclusive Patron Ticket boasts a sparkling wine reception, a sit-down multi-course meal prepared by Mark Stark of Stark Reality Restaurants, and access to a cigar bar and private lounge.

“Sonoma County is known for its delicious wine and food as well as its unique and unparalleled style,” said Honore Comfort, Sonoma Wine Country Weekend co-director. “The Sonoma Starlight Supper Club is a reflection of the naturally elegant experience that can be found only in Sonoma.”

“We are pleased to add the Sonoma Starlight Supper Club at Francis Ford Coppola Winery to kick off Sonoma Wine Country Weekend with panache,” said Maureen Cottingham, Sonoma Wine Country Weekend co-director. “Such an uncommonly elegant and festive celebration will not only elevate the entire Sonoma Wine Country Weekend experience, it will also help us raise additional funds that are critical for so many local nonprofits.”

Produced in partnership by the Sonoma Valley Vintners and Growers Foundation and the Sonoma County Vintners, the 2012 Sonoma Wine Country Weekend includes the Taste of Sonoma at MacMurray Ranch, the Sonoma Starlight Supper Club at Francis Ford Coppola Winery, the 20th annual Sonoma Valley Harvest Wine Auction at Chateau St. Jean and an assortment of additional winery-hosted events throughout Sonoma County.

To date, more than $11 million has been donated directly to Sonoma County nonprofits by the local wine community through this weekend of events.

Tickets, which range from $85 to $500 depending on the event, are on sale now. For tickets or more information visit sonomawinecountryweekend.com.
