William Ford Cook

William Ford Cook, “Ford” to most, “Bill” to some and “Big Ford” to a select few, passed on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012. Ford called the Sonoma Valley home for the past 40 years. Born and raised in Sausalito, he moved here to open the local dining institution “Ford’s Cafe” in Schellville.

He is survived by his partners and friends though life, Cyndi and Linda; his grandchildren which were his light in his later years, Cyrus and Desmond; his daughter-in-law, Alisha; and Eddy the pug.

There will be a celebration of life held at the Moose Lodge on Saturday, Dec. 29, between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and noon.  Drop by and say hi, or stay awhile and reminisce old friends. Any condolences can also be sent to:  Ford Cook, P.O. Box 315   El Verano, CA 95433.

Words can’t begin to express how much you’re going to be missed, I’ll see you again someday in the fields of Elysium.  – Your loving son, Ford.

So very sad to hear of Ford's passing. We loved Ford, and his restaurant. He was one in a million and an absolute treasure for Sonoma. (I always wished he'd been honored in some way)
He was the the ambassador of good cheer, good food and a welcoming friend to all who passed through.
Condolences to young Ford, Cindy, and all who's lives he touched. He lives on with great fondness in our memories.
