Where’s the outrage
Editor, Index-Tribune:
I cannot believe that there is not more opposition to another upscale hotel in Sonoma, and particularly right next to our Plaza and on Highway 12, the main thoroughfare.
Where’s the outrage, when locals have to be acutely aware of the congestion, the difficulties involved in trying to cross the streets, the lack of parking, and inconsiderate drivers?
When the Lodge went in, the promise was that it was not to be walled off to the surrounding neighborhood, but would have walking paths to include the community. Pretty much looks like a walled city to me.
There are always promises when developers come in, and maybe some really do have an intent of being neighborly and addressing concerns. But promises and concern, and even modifications, are not enough to undo the desecration once you have overbuilt an inviting communal space that seems to welcome you to pause in another time.
