What’s open, closed on Monday

Monday, Sept. 3, is Labor Day almost all government offices are closed.

The Sonoma County offices in Santa Rosa are closed as is Sonoma City Hall.

The Valley of the Moon Water district office will be closed Monday.

The Sonoma Valley Regional Library will be closed both Saturday, Sept. 1; and Monday, Sept. 3.

Sonoma County Transit will not run any buses at all on Monday.

There will be no garbage collection on Monday either in Sonoma, served by Sonoma Garbage Collectors, or in the county, served by Redwood Empire Disposal. All garbage collections will be pushed back a day all week. Those whose pickup is Monday will instead have their refuse picked up on Tuesday. Tuesday pickups will be on Wednesday and so on.

All schools will be closed on Monday. Sonoma Valley public schools are also closed today, Friday, Aug. 31, as the first of eight furlough days this school year.

The post office is closed and all banks are closed.

The offices of The Sonoma Index-Tribune are also closed.
