What’s open and closed over the holidays

With the holidays here, governmental agencies will be closed at various times for the holidays.

The Sonoma County offices in Santa Rosa will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 25, and again on Tuesday, Jan. 1.

City of Sonoma offices will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 25. The following week, the offices will only be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 1.

The Sonoma Valley Regional Library will be closed on Dec. 25. For New Year’s, the library will close at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, and not re-open until Wednesday, Jan. 2.

The Valley of the Moon Water District offices will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 25. The following week, the office will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 1.

Sonoma County Transit buses will not run at all on Tuesday, Dec. 25. The following week, the buses will run on a Saturday schedule on Monday, Dec. 31, and not run at all on Tuesday, Jan. 1.

There will be no waste collection by either the Sonoma Garbage Collector in Sonoma or Redwood Empire Waste Disposal on Tuesday, Dec. 25. All collections will be pushed back a day, so Tuesday pickups will be on Wednesday, and so on. The following week, there will be no pickup on Tuesday, Jan. 1, will all collections pushed back a day all week.

The Sonoma Index-Tribune will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 25. The following week, the office will close at noon on Monday, Dec. 31, and be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 1.

Classes in the Sonoma Valley Unified School District will resume on Monday, Jan. 7.
