Walter ‘Walt’ Edward Hanhy

Walter “Walt” Edward Hanhy, passed from life at home in Sonoma, on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012. He was 72. A native of Brockton, Mass., born to Walter and Ella Hanhy. He was a 23-year resident of Sonoma.

  His gallant battle with leukemia was enhanced by the amazing care of Hospice By The Bay.

  Walt’s Finnish heritage shined in his love of music and crafting of artisan knives and swords.

  Surviving Walt are his loves – his wife, Sally; his loving children, Jennifer, Erik, Kirk and Kris. He was the beloved grandfather of five, and is also survived by his sister, Lorna.

  The family requests donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society – 415-625-1100.
