‘Visiting Mr. Green’ plays two nights only

Sep 27, 2012 - 04:15 PM

The Sonoma Theatre Alliances Summer Nights series offers up Butch Engles Readers’ Theatre presentation of “Visiting Mr. Green” by Jeff Baron on Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 2 and 3, at 8 p.m. at the Sonoma Community Center, 276 E. Napa St.

This witty comedy involves two men – one, an elderly retired dry cleaner, the other a 29-year-old charged with reckless driving.

They’re two men who do not want to be in the same room together. When the young man is charged with community service, he must visit the elderly gentleman weekly for six months.

What starts as a comedy becomes a moving drama as they get to know each other.

“We're so grateful to Owen Orser, Butch Engle and Rick Love, who are donating all proceeds to the Sonoma Theatre Alliance, and we are thrilled to have such a great production in our Summer Nights lineup,” said Jaime Love, president of the alliance.

Tickets are $12 and available through the community center’s Sonoma Valley Box Office by calling 938-4626, ext. 1, or at sonomacommunitycenter.org.
