  Vincent Dominic Russo passed peacefully away on Feb. 8, 2012, his family at his side. He was 88.

  A native of San Francisco he spent more than 55 years living on Potrero Hill. A longtime resident of Sonoma, 30 years, Vince was the beloved husband of Angelina Russo for 63 years.

  During World War II, Vince joined the Coast Guard and served on a Liberty Ship in the Pacific Theatre. After the war he became a Teamster and was a loyal member of Local 85 for 35 years. Vince will be remembered for his devotion to his family and his trips to the track to have a couple of shots and bet on the long shots.

  He is survived by his loving wife, Angelina Russo; by his cherished children, Tony Russo (Pam) and Chris Noto (Steve). He was the adored grandfather of Jennifer Funes (Rob), Julia Braun (Doug), Gina Noto, Michael Noto (Michelle); great-grandfather of Ella Braun, Anthony Braun and Grace Noto; and by his sister, Grace Gradwohl. He is predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Catherine Russo and by his brothers, John Russo and Anthony Russo.

  Friends are invited to attend a celebration of his life on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Duggan’s Mission Chapel, 525 W. Napa St., Sonoma, CA 95476.

  Inurnment will follow the Services at the Veterans Memorial Park, 90 First St. W., Sonoma, CA 95476.

  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the hospice of your choice.
