VinOlivo offers four days of food, wine, olives

VinOlivo, sponsored by the Sonoma Valley Vintners and Growers Alliance, has expanded into a three-day event to celebrate the last weekend of the Season of the Olives.

  It begins with the VinOlivo Grand Tasting, set for today, Friday, Feb. 17, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Lodge at Sonoma. More than 60 wineries and 25 restaurants and food purveyors will be offering samples during the event. DJ music completes the evening.

  Tickets are $75 in advance, $85 at the door.

  The VinOlivo Winemaker Dinner Series is new this year and will take place Saturday, Feb. 18, at 6 p.m. at participating wineries throughout Sonoma Valley.

  At these intimate winemaker dinners, guests will share the evening with the winemakers whose creations have earned international acclaim. For a complete listing of Winemaker Dinners, visit www.sonomavalleywine.com. Tickets are $85.

  Also new this year is the Winery Tasting Pass that offers access to more than 40 wineries along with a menu of special offers that include complimentary tastings, discounted wine purchases, barrel tastings or winery tours. Choose from a three-day Tasting Pass to be used Saturday to Monday, Feb. 18 to 20, for $50. There is also a one-day Tasting Pass where guests select the day they plan to use their ticket for $25.
