Titanic exhibit opens

Feb 17, 2012 - 01:46 PM

The “Titanic Story” opened this week at the Depot Park Museum, one block north of the Plaza.

The exhibit shows the beautiful liner as it left Southampton, and views of the lifeboats as they reached the rescue ship. Several stories about survivors are revealed, as well as the true story of J. Dawson (a name featured in James Cameron's “Titanic” movie.) It is the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, which occurred on April 15, 1912.

The exhibit will close April 30.

The museum is open Thursday through Sunday, from 1 to 4:30 p.m., and admission is free.
