The great people of Sonoma
Editor, Index-Tribune:
I’ve lived in the Valley for 58 years. Something happened to me last Monday that made me realize just how great the people are here.
I fell down near PayLess Shoe Store and cut my left knee quite badly. The manager of the store came to see how I was. Another lady came with her. They tried to help me keep the wound together. The manager went back inside and called 911 and came back with a roll of paper towels so I could hold the wound with them.
Another lady mailed my mail for me and one parked my car for me. They tried to call and let my husband know, but the line was busy. I remember that my son-in-law was talking to AT&T to work out some problems with my computer so I figured it would be busy for some time.
When the ambulance came and we realized I’d be going to the hospital, one of the ladies volunteered to drive to my home and let them know what had happened (which she did).
I didn’t know anyone’s name and I wanted them to know how much I appreciate what everyone did.
