Teens to sell food, art this weekend

Dec 6, 2012 - 03:30 PM

Sonoma Valley Teen Service teens will sell food and art on Friday, Dec. 7 from 3 to 5 p.m.; and on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 8 and 9, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the No Name Café, located on the Sonoma Valley High School campus, 2000 Broadway, Suite E1.

On Saturday and Sunday, the Lovin’ Oven teen bakers will prepare and sell tasty sandwiches and wraps, soup, salad and desserts starting at noon.

The teens work with Teresa Alumpur and Rich Treglia, adult volunteers, who help them choose and prepare menus.

Another teen managed program is “Valley Girl Foodstuffs,” led by Anea Kamahele, adult volunteer. The teens make preserves, which include unique ketchups, mustards, banana sauce and apple sauce.

Every Wednesday after school at the No Name Café teens create art, which includes paintings, etchings, ceramics and jewelry which will be offered for sale.

The teens are given half of the net sales proceeds, while the remainder is invested to continue the programs to acquire art materials, food and packaging.
