Sonoma Valley Teen Services will hold an open house at Valley of the Moon Teen Center at 17440 Sonoma Highway in Boyes Hot Springs, for parents, legal guardians, tutors, mentors and adults interested in helping teens develop academically and socially. The open house takes place on Friday, Nov. 9, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Cristin Lawrence, executive director of teen services, along with staff and volunteers will show visitors the facility, which includes a commercial kitchen, computer room, gym, basketball court and meeting rooms.

Lawrence and the teens will briefly talk about the various programs offered by Sonoma Valley Teen Services, including “Skills for Life” work preparedness seminars; the Lovin’ Oven baking program, Ragazzi “pop up” restaurant, healthy cooking classes, the No Name Café barista training, art activities and the Shop musical productions.

Adrian Palenchar, a 2000 Sonoma Valley High School graduate, manages the bicycle basement shop at the teen center. He teaches teens to repair and maintain bicycles that are donated.

Sixteen of those bicycles will be raffled off at the open house.

Child care, food and beverages will be served. Reserve a spot by calling 939-1452.  For further information about Sonoma Valley Teen Services, visit svteens.org.
