The ride to a sweep of their three-straight Sonoma County League road dual-matches came to a grinding halt on Tuesday when the Sonoma Valley High School varsity wrestlers ran into a solid Windsor team and got thumped.

After convincing SCL road victories over Analy and Petaluma, the Dragons could muster only three wins out of the 14 weight-class bouts and were handed a one-sided 61-15 defeat at Windsor.

Sonoma won’t have to leave the Valley for its final three SCL dual-matches, having taking on visiting Casa Grande last night – results not available at presstime – and will next host first-place Healdsburg at 6 p.m. this Wednesday in Golton Hall.

Pacing the Dragons against Windsor were junior tri-captainAidan Lacy’s 9-2 victory over Delagnes at 222 pounds; junior tri-captain Sam Denning’s pin-win over Trunick at 128; sophomore Max Schimm’s pinning of Roe at 147; senior Victor Virgen’s 9-3 defeat to Carrillo in the heavyweight division; senior Jorge Oros’ pinning by I. Guzman at 172; junior tri-captain Giordi Serafini’s pin-loss to T. Silva at 134; junior Peter Gray’s technical-fall defeat to Perez at 108; junior Alex Ohan’s pining by Blumenthal at 154; sophomore Harris Meglin’s pin-defeat to Au-Yeung at 114; freshman Jake Randuch’s pin-loss to Fore at 122; frosh Rowan Todd’s pinning by I. Silva at 140; and frosh Alyssa Christian’s pin-defeat by Greenly at 184.

Sonoma’s varsity wrestlers will compete in tomorrow’s, Saturday, Jan. 28, Dusk-2-Dawn Tournament at Marin Catholic.
