Sonoma wrestlers host El Mo, honor seniors at final dual Wednesday
Dragons 12th at El Camino, Lacy 1st, Denning 2nd, Meglen 4th

Reaching the end of their Sonoma County League dual-match season, the Sonoma Valley High School varsity wrestlers will host El Molino in their home finale at 6 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 8, in Golton Hall.
Before the match, Sonoma will honoring its five seniors, including Victor Virgen, Jorge Oros, Paul Pizano, Austin Erickson and David Ake.
The Dragons will then have a 10-day break in the action to prepare for the competitive SCL championships taking place on Saturday, Feb. 18, at Casa Grande in Petaluma.
On Saturday, Sonoma’s varsity wrestlers competed in the El Camino Tournament in South San Francisco and, after a starting-delay which made it a long day on the mats, three Dragons took home medals and the team finished a solid 12th out of 44 schools.
The Dragons were led by junior tri-captain Aidan Lacy’s first-place performance, including a 5-0 record with two pins at 222 pounds – earning him back-to-back weekend tourney gold medals – junior tri-captain Sam Denning’s 4-1 second-place medal effort with three pins at 122; sophomore Harris Meglen’s 3-2 fourth-place medal with one pin at 115; junior tri-captain Giordi Serafini’s 2-2 with one pin at 128; sophomore Max Schimm’s 2-2 with one pin at 138; senior Jorge Oros’ 2-2 at 162; junior Alex Ohan’s 0-2 at 147; and freshman Jake Randuch’s 0-2 at 115.
