SONOMA RACEWAY’S 2013 Big O Tires racing season tickets and ticket packages for the main-event schedule, again featuring the Toyota/Save Mart 350 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, are currently on sale. Also highlighting the Sonoma Raceway main-event lineup are the Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival on May 18 and 19; the GoPro Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma weekend on Aug. 23 through 25; the second-annual FIA World Touring Car event on Saturday, Sept. 7, and Sunday, Sept. 8; and the Classic Sports Racing Group Charity Challenge on Saturday, Oct. 5, and Sunday, Oct. 6. VALLEY OF THE Moon Trap Club will hold its annual Christmas meat shoot on Sunday, Dec. 16, starting at 9:30 a.m. at the club’s South Burndale Road site, with more than 100 salamis up for grabs, including a bonus Annie Oakley shootoff for a three-pound salami at the end of the event. Five-man squads will compete, with squad sign-ups beginning at 8:30 a.m. Lunch will be available for $8. Eye and ear protection is mandatory. SONOMA VALLEY HIGH School’s sixth annual Dragon Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Hanna Boys Center, and will honor one coach and one business with special awards, as well as seven individual athletes and one team for winning back-to-back titles. BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS of Sonoma Valley need referees for its basketball leagues for boys and girls in third-through-eighth grades. Experience is preferred, and so are adult refs, but training is available and high school students are welcome to inquire. Referees are paid for each game.
