Sonoma Valley High School’s Link Crew is a year-long freshman orientation program run by 68 juniors and seniors who are paired with a group of freshmen in a five-to-one ratio for the entire school year. Link Crew members meet monthly under the stewardship of freshman team teachers Danielle Lovejoy, Janine Crow, Tammy Rivara and Julie Niehaus. Crew members have volunteered to act as mentors, role models and support for the freshmen. The program started during the summer when the 68 upperclassmen participated in a 12-hour training to prepare for the August freshman orientation. Throughout the year, the Link Crew, separated into teams of seven, will organize a series of events for the freshmen. Pictured left to right are juniors, Jazmin Chavez, Ellen Angeloni, Ishqa Rousseau, Christina Uzzo, Hallie Stava, Adeira Sherpa and Kirsten Hodgson, who comprise one team.
